Choose PNG when editing matters more than file size
PNG is useful when a destination rejects HEIC and you want a lossless raster file for editing, screenshots or graphics software. PNG files can be much larger than HEIC, especially for detailed camera photos, so JPG may be more practical for routine sharing.

Does PNG preserve the original HEIC quality?
